There are parts of ST Louis that no sane human enters.

My issue with Gary and Jackson is no other local assets. In Memphis there are other things to do and see which keeps visitors in town to spend money in the local economy. A Jackson grave who be the only thing in Gary. People who stop at a grave sight would in a hurry beat it out of town.

We had a similar idea here in the St Louis area. Little river town of Alton Ill decided a river boat casino who bring people to town and they the old downtown would be revitalized. They got their boat and business in downtown was worse. Many of the people who went to local restaurants started going to the casino to eat. Downtown business actually fell. The only gain was their chunk of the tax revenue.

It is a mistake to think businessmen are more immoral than politicians!
