old reb - you have to look at their voting record and see if they vote conservative, moderate or liberal. RINOS do not hold with the conservative party base preferring to say things like "expanding the tent to include more" meaning they want to try and convince liberals to come over and work with them. Case in point - John McCain. How many times have you seen him work with a liberal on a liberal bill? Now how many times have you seen him convince a liberal to work with him on a conservative bill? The answer to the questions are "all of the time" and "never".

RINOs are willing to forego their base to try and get along with people who want to see them out of office. Arlen Specter was a RINO who finally lost his disguise. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins from Maine are others.

The RINOs are currently in the leadership of the RNC and have pretty much abandoned the conservative base. That is why so many conservatives flocked to Sarah Palin. They saw in her something they havent seen in a long time - a real conservative Republican in a leadership position. Bobby Jindal is another one people like. Once they start talking about expanding the tent that means they dont believe in conservatism. Pawlenty from Wisconsin said that the other day and the word RINO flashed before my eyes.

I dont mind getting along with people but I dont see any point in trying to get along with people that hate everything I stand for. No point in wasting time trying to get them to see the conservative side. The thing is there are a lot of conservative Democrats and they are just as lost because their party has been taken over by the liberals as well.
