America now has 300 million people. I believe there are probably 100 million varying opinions on what the abortion policy should be for this nation.

I know a woman who had severe kidney problems, as a matter of fact bad enough to be hospitalized three times and to go through lithotripsy treatments. She also had other physical problems at the age of 48. She also got pregnant at the age of 48 quite by surprise. Her doctor recommended an immediate abortion because of her physical problems. He added that at that age she was also far more likely to have an abnormal child. That last comment had no effect on the couple's decision but her physical problems did since the doctor had added that there was a real doubt she could carry the baby to maturity.

They decided to have the abortion, not from a position of pleasure and not from a position of not wanting a child but from a position of protecting the life and health of the wife.

Was that wrong?
