The toxocology reports are back. Cammy died from cocaine and opiate intoxication. That is a shame, and a waste. When he was right, he was a fabulous 3rd baseman. Why people ruin their lives when they have worked to become successful in their profession and throw it all away is mind boggling. Of course, alot of athletes are coddled and get riches too easily, so they never develop the preequisite self-discipline that alot of the rest of us do. That is one of the main problems. The pro-athletic world is the personification of a dangerous syndrome that has infected society - the idea of instant gratification!

"America's abundance was created not by public sacrifices to "the common good," but by the productive genius of free men who pursued their own personal interests and the making of their own private fortunes. They did not starve the people to pay for America's industrialization. They gave the people better jobs, higher wages adn cheaper goods with every new machine they invented, with every scientific discovery or technological advance -- and thus the whole country was moving forward and profiting, not suffering, every step of the way." (Ayn Rand)
