Bill,

I haven't seen this level of stupid baserunning in the World Series before. No wonder pitchers are useless if they are not pitching well. That tag up on the fly ball to left by Suppan in the 2nd all but destroyed the Cards chances for a big inning early in the game. The ball was barely out of the infield and even someone with a weak throwing arm like Manny easily threw him out at the plate. What in hell was he thinking? Especially with Reggie Sanders coming up and the bases loaded. It is one thing if there is only a runner on third and it is late in the game, but in the 2nd inning, bases loaded, and a good gap hitter coming to the plate? Assanine! Then late in the game that brain freeze when the runner didn't take home when it was conceded could well have changed the complexion of the game in the eighth and ninth innings. You just can't make those mistakes in this type of game against a good team and a good pitcher.

Pedro pitched a good game. He is another that steps it up when the stakes are high. He is money in the bank in these type of games and if you get a chance to get to him early, you had better take advantage, or forget it. The Cards show no life, I don't think this well get back to Boston.

"America's abundance was created not by public sacrifices to "the common good," but by the productive genius of free men who pursued their own personal interests and the making of their own private fortunes. They did not starve the people to pay for America's industrialization. They gave the people better jobs, higher wages adn cheaper goods with every new machine they invented, with every scientific discovery or technological advance -- and thus the whole country was moving forward and profiting, not suffering, every step of the way."
