What a ridiculous waste of tax dollars. Legalize drugs. Problem solved.

And how would that stop all the illegals crossing the border? Hell it would not even stop the drug runners since if they were legal the government would put such a high tax on them that there would still be a profit for the drug runners. No the way to do it is to put the military on the borders with orders to shoot to kill any and all trying to cross illegally.

Well now you're talking about two different things. My post was in response to the article's question “Would you advocate military involvement in Mexico on the Mexico side of the border to help Mexico in this drug war?” That's a horrible solution if all you care about is destroying the drug cartels. Pfizer could put every Mexican drug manufacturer, trafficker, and dealer out of business in a week if everything were legalized.

But your solution to illegal immigration in general is also ineffective, to say the least. Why shoot some pathetic grape picker? It's the people hiring them that ought to be shot, if anyone. If American business owners stopped hiring them, they'd stop coming here. Again, attack the  disease, not the symptom.
