They make a good point, that is exactly what should happen. Unfortunately our local law enforcement agencies lack something important when dealing with the feds - something called balls.

The problem is that most sheriffs are way too political as they have to pander to voters. That is the problem at the county level, whereas police chiefs on the municipal level don't have to pander to the electorate. Then again, these sheriffs would have the support of their electorates in this matter. Time to get the job done I say!
