Good article, Rick.
Abolishing the income tax. Now that really would be a genuine economic stimulus.

Absolutely it would be an economic stimulus. I'd buy a another house and rent it out if only I didn't have to pay income tax. That would create wealth, put money into the economy (generated revenue for government), I'd have to pay fees and sales tax, and property tax - all of which would create more revenue for government. I hold back because of my tax bill makes it unfeasable. Really, they shoot themselves in the foot with income tax - the economy would generate more revenue than they would collect in income tax if there was no income tax in the first place.

But Mr. Obama and the Democrats in Washington want to do the opposite: to raise the income tax "for purposes of fairness" as Barack Obama puts it.

Of course not, Democrats have deluded themselves into believing that income taxing generates revenue, and they don't understand that a vibrant economy where people have that extra money to spend generates more revenue. They are narrow thinkers. To be fair, Republicans aren't much better when it comes to the issue of income taxes. I have yet to hear any Republican (other than Ron Paul) mention abolishing income taxes.
