John, thanks for posting that video. I appreciate the search and you taking the time. However in my view the fact that you did tells me that there are many things about this issue that you have not investigated.

Even if you went no further than the first order of checking this information, you would have found out that Chris Horner is an attorney who has no formal scientific training to speak of. That should have set off some red flags of him painting a picture that could be very much skewed from truth. Anf it was. Virtually all of the "facts" that he referenced are transparent by NASA with published facts, reasons, etc. It is quite the nature of science to continually search for the most accurate data. They have published several papers, for example, on the effects of urbanization on the overall data, and Chris Horner had nothing to do with it. And not only NASA scientists, but university and other scientists from around the globe.

The "climategate" nonsense that you and Alan hang your hats on without EVER (at least on this board) providing an example from the actual emails (so that in fact I had to glean from Fox News broadcasts which emails were widely quoted, advise you, and then advise how things were taken so far out of context or misinterpreted that it was laughable and an obvious attempt by Fox at obfuscating the facts).

You need not believe me. The "climategate" nonsense has been picked over by no less than 9 official bodies, including the UK parliament, and the US National Science Foundation - and found to be utterly baseless. I intentionally selected both a broad political organization and a scientific organization as exemplary to this this point. You may, of course, do your own research into the other capable organizations around the world that felt compelled to investigate this accusation.

Your are about 2 years behind in the disinformation that you posted. Anyone that wants NASA data can go to
http://climate.nasa.gov/keyIndicators/
hit download and graph their brains out.

You may compare that to any other independent data. Repeat: INDEPENDENT DATA. Got it?

All the other INDEPENDENT data sets out there, all available as well

As for the rest of the so-called climategate nonsense, if anyone is really interested, I know someone who has done several videos exposing this nonsense, and he puts it in terms that anyone, even not-scientifically trained people, can understand. I love his statement, which clearly applies to you, "I even read one of the papers referred to in one of the emails". That is classic! In another topic, I referenced you to that paper, advised that when you read it and saw how out of context the statement quoted on Fox was that you would laugh. However, you refused to look it up. It was one of the first things that I did after I watched the Fox report on that email. Hmmm......

John, I understand your opinion, where you are coming from, and why, and I really don't blame you or Media at all based on the misinformation that is out there. In fact, I applaud your skepticism, and I certainly admire Media's wit and writing skills. But I think that are you way off the mark with the Horner clip, and that you are not even keeping up with the latest Fox propaganda.

I'd be happy to answer any specific questions if I can and I can find the time. No one has ever accused me of being a scientific slouch, and I know that you have the brain horsepower to look into the facts if you preferred to. However, we are all here to have a lot of fun, and if you would rather not engage in the details, I understand. I know that you keep really busy and have fun, too, and also my time is rather limited. I do encourage you to take a look at some of these videos, however.
