Maybe I'm wrong, but I view the statement - if that's it in total - more of a call for party unity than and endorsement of McCain himself.

Something that is obligaorty for those that campaign for the nomination.

I have mixed emotions on Fred as McCain's VP.

One on hand, I'd like to see it (and would have to try hard to not have un-Christian like thoughs regarding McCain's health) if I though his presence was about him keeping McCain honest on his consertavie campaign promises.

On the other had, it would seem like something of a sell out for Thompson given the differences between the two's possitions.

I really wasn't of the impression that Thompson was interested in the VP slot, but I guess he is unemployed right now.
