In my case, at the risk of beeing called a "Fascist" (BOO! HISS!), I see Social Security as a powerful weapon of social discipline, a mighty rod with which we may beat, beat and BEAT the backs of social malefactors. To get to specifics, there are 5 catergories of people who can and should be denied Social Security. They are:
1. Parents who refuse to pay child support.
2. Parents who refuse to pay for higher education.
3. Parents who commit abuse and neglect.
4. Spouses guilt of dmoestic violence
5. No Social Security for anyone, who, at the time they become eligible for Social Security is still the parents of a
minor child.
This last is in defernce to a young woman I knew. She was the progeny of her father's THIRD and late in life mariage, when he turned 65 she turned 11. A combination of a fondness for drink and a spotty employment record left him solely dependent on Social Security for his retirement income-which he spent on alcohol, leaving his wife to support the household. My old man was a deadbeat dad and my mother-a high school dropout-gave me neither financial nor moral support during my higher education, I do NOT owe those people a comfortable old age.
