As an Army veteran I note than since far more conservatives serve and have served in the military far more conservatives have been in the position of having a member of a minority group as their superior as well as having to live with them cheek by jowl.
Here's a reason I'm not voting for Obama-he graduated from Columbia and Harvard Law School. Too many presidents, Federal Judges, Supreme Court Justices, policy wonks, etc. have come out of these Ivy League schools.
They think they're divinely ordained to lead this country, they are intellectually inbred and too much of their education consists of indoctrination and assimilating the "Party Line." I recall an article I read years ago in which a secretary at a Big League New York law firm said of the Ivy League law school graduates there "They come out of school with their
heads buzzing with the latest socio legal jargon, but they can't fill out the simplest legal form unless I show them."
(One lawyer who managed to be hired by one such firm despite having gone to a less prestigious law school told me
that of the group he was hired with, he was the only to pass the bar exam on the first try.)
And I like to quote a line of Jimmy Breslin that my mother liked to quote:
"The Vietnam War didn't come out of Clancy's Bar and Grill in Flatbush, it came out of the libraries of Harvard and
Yale."
