You can keep the change
Carolyn Hileman
Let me be the first to say it, I don't want no change. I want good old fashioned dollar bills, I want lots of them, I will even take fives, tens, twenties, fifties or hundreds I am not picky, but you can keep your change. Seems we have been hearing that word used more and more these days and some people actually think it sounds good, well I don't. I happen to like my country, Hell I love my country and I really do not think we need to change it. Some of the people, now maybe, but not the country, this country they are so Hell bent on changing has been around long before Mr. Change himself was in diapers, it was cutting its teeth before his Mother came along. This man who stands before us today telling us how we need to change this country seems to have forgotten this ailing, divided country of ours gave him every single thing he has right now including his right to stand there and tell us we need to change it.
You will have to forgive my not wanting to change the young man working along side the old and the mom who stays at home. Please forgive me if I do not want the presidential shield changed, or anything it stands for. You will excuse me if I don't applaud the high gas prices, the warning that we must reduce fuel consumption while he jets around from city to city telling US how WE must change. Well I don't want to, I have never in my entire life owned a slave, my parents didn't own slaves, my grand parents didn't own slaves and I am sorry but I will not pay for something I never did even if it is with change. Don't preach to me your religion of change when we all know what that means is we must all be afraid to say anything about you, we must not mention your middle name, we must not say anything bad about your wife, your pastor, your friends, for that matter your policies, if you have any. I will not live under totalitarian rule, I will not give up freedom of speech to gain your version of change sir, and you can keep the change.
Change means something different and he is saying he is offering something different, I have not seen anything different yet except that he is offering to take away our freedom of speech, our right to bare arms and it will all be so we can feel good about ourselves. I feel pretty good about myself already I don't need some highbrow, false profit to tell me how to live. I don't need someone whose only answer to the rising cost of gas is drive less and save the planet. I don't need him taxing oil companies, I don't need him threatening to bring the oil company executives up on charges, I need him to get down here on the level with the little man that he says he is for and see how much it costs just to go back and forth to work and I need him to open up drilling at home, to keep those jobs at home and to allow it to create more jobs at home and I need that more than I need his preaching about how we can cleanse our souls if we will just elect him. My soul is just fine, it is my pocket book I am worried about, I need a few of those dollar bills right now and you can keep the change.
