FIVE TIMES A DAY
A British man that was accused of being a key suspect in an al Qaeda plot to blow up passenger planes from Britain to the US escaped as police were taking him to jail.
But Rashid Rauf didn't just escape ... he escaped when he asked the police to take him to a mosque so that he could do his afternoon prayers. Rauf went into the mosque with handcuffs on and slipped out the backdoor. The officers were waiting out in the car, and they did not check on him for 20 minutes. Those officers are now under investigation. Hell ... they should be under arrest.
Rauf denies involvement in the al Qaeda plot and the case was later withdrawn. But he remained in jail, waiting a decision on British extradition. Police originally said that he broke free from his handcuffs when he was being escorted from court to a prison van. Now they are embarrassed to admit that by bending to every last request of Muslims, he ended up getting away. Rauf's lawyer says, "in my opinion it is not escape, but a case of mysterious disappearance." That would be typical for a lawyer who would represent a man such as this. Mysterious disappearance? If all of his ilk would mysteriously disappear I might even pray five times a day
