Pasco brothers hope voyage raises $3 Million
Two Pasco County brothers left Tampa on Saturday for a 6,200-mile, 46-day trans-Atlantic voyage in a 21-foot fishing boat. Ralph and Robert Brown are
in it for the adventure, but they're also raising money for six veterans' foundations.
Ralph, a former Marine, wants to raise $3 million by selling 100,000 T-shirts. Ralph said he didn't know how many have been sold so far, but he
has raised enough money to fund the boat trip, largely owing to the sponsorship of Interstate Battery.
The brothers already hold the Guinness world record for the longest nonstop ocean voyage in a flats boat, which they earned in 2007 for making the
1,400-mile voyage from Atlantic Beach, N.C., to Bermuda to New York Harbor. They will pass through Miami Beach today.
