Is it possible that FEMA has closed, run out of money or just does not care anymore? Is this the prequel to Obama care, the arbitrary decisions as to who deserves help that turn into no one getting help? Since President Obama has been in office FEMA has denied help to the following;
Texas, Arizona, Allegheny, Westmoreland, Connecticut, Nebraska, California, Oklahoma, HANNIBAL, Mo, DES MOINES, Iowa, Milwaukee County and Elmwood and that is just the ones I have taken the time to look up. You see I was curious if any president other than Obama had denied FEMA help in the face of a national disaster and although I found no indication that was so I started seeing different ones in 2010 and the more I looked the more I found. While I still do not know if any other president has denied FEMA assistance I do know that there are several instances here that give one pause for thought. I excluded some that to be honest I did not even think were natural disasters, but for those ravaged by tornadoes, floods and major fires I think they deserve at the very least the type of treatment demanded for New Orleans.
Then there comes the question, do they even have the money to respond, has it all been spent on other things, who exactly gets to decide who gets help and who does not? Is this what we have to look forward to with the health care bill, someone we don’t know in another state looking at a paper and saying “you know I really do not think they are that bad off” and if they do not have the money to help those affected by these disasters, will they have the money to fund any part of the health care plan? These questions need to be answered and they need to be answered now…
