Hillary Rodham Clinton, 37 percent

John McCain, 55 percent
Mike Huckabee, 27 percent
Ron Paul, 5 percent

OF INTEREST:
McCain had broad appeal, even holding his own among religious conservatives, a key voting bloc for Huckabee. Obama dominated among black voters and those living in the state's urban-suburban corridor from outside Washington, D.C., to Virginia Beach.

The Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc. poll was conducted Feb. 7-8 for McClatchy Newspapers and MSNBC. It included interviews with 400 likely Democratic primary voters and 400 likely Republican primary voters. The margin of sampling error was plus or minus 5 percentage points.
