Yesterday, The Washingtonian and others claimed the pop star was lip-syncing, using photos the artist posted to her Instagram account as “proof” that she had pre-recorded the track; The Washingtonian also claimed that the band itself had merely pretended to play its instruments. Today, The London Times published a story claiming to confirm the lip-synching. Now, the New York Post has jumped into the fray, also claiming to have confirmed the rumor. Both outlets reportedly spoke to a representative or representatives for the United States Marine Band, who revealed to the Post that while the band performed the song live, the singer decided to use a pre-recorded track at the last minute:
